The following is an overview of SFOG's Flashpass virtual ride queuing system. Information is from
the official Lo-Q website and is copyright Lo-Q.
With the Fastlane ride reservation system developed by Lo-Q Virtual Queuing you'll be able to do more, enjoy the park and still get to ride the rides you want - without having to wait all day in lines.
Unlike paper ticketed systems that assign a pre-set time and aren't capable of handling the dynamics of the day-to-day and hour-to-hour of ride operations, the Fastlane system developed by Lo-Q takes in to consideration that rides don't always run as designed and sometimes shutdown. With the Fastlane system you're notified of any issues that would prevent you from riding during your assigned time - allowing you to better plan your fun thoughout the day.
When you arrive at the park you rent a "Q-bot," a pager like device that you will use to communicate directly with our "Guest Service System" that is monitoring all the other Fastlane users and those other guests that are waiting in lines at the rides.
Once you have the Q-bot you simply go to your favorite ride and request a reservation by holding your Q-Bot to a special "Reservation" sign located near the regular entrance of that ride*.
Your Q-bot sends an infra-red signal telling the Guest Service System that it's ready for a reservation. Immediately your first ride is reserved and then scheduled by the computer system that is monitoring all the Fastlane enabled rides in the park. The time you received is fairly determined by monitoring the ride cycles, how fast each train leaves the station, number of seats on the ride, number of guests standing in line and the number of Fastlane users - we call this the "throughput" of the ride. This all happens in the blink of an eye. you're now in the "virtual queue" or "virtual line" for that ride.
Now you're free to do other things in the park - eat, drink, play games, see some shows, or you are free to make other reservations at other Fastlane enabled rides in the park. To make additional reservations, simply find the "Reservation" sign near the entrance of your next ride and hold your Q-bot to the sign.
This ride will automatically be added to your list of reserved rides - we call this your "Reservation list." Rides on your reservation list will automatically be scheduled after you ride the ride previous to that ride.
For example, if you reserve 'Superman" first you will get a time to ride that ride immediately. On your next ride, let's say "Batman" you'll get a confirmation that you have reserved the ride - but it will not show a scheduled time until after you have ridden "Superman."
Just like you can physically only stand in one line at a time, the Q-Bot can only 'virtually' stand in one line at a time. You can however stand in one line while the Q-Bot stands in another - getting two rides at the same time!
Your current scheduled ride will always stay on the Q-Bot to remind you of your next ride.
Just before your scheduled ride time the Q-Bot will remind a few times by beeping and displaying a message indicating "Next Ride Soon!"
This means you should be heading to your next ride... soon!
When you arrive at the next ride, you simply go to the special "Fastlane Entrance," there you'll see a sign that says "Enter Here." Hold your Q-Bot up to the sign to enter the ride. This will send a special infra-red signal back to our computer system and make sure you're scheduled for the ride.
If you're on time you'll receive an "Enjoy the Ride!" message - walk up the special entrance, and well, Enjoy your Ride!
After you have finished your ride your Q-bot will receive a radio signal and your next ride will be displayed automatically.
As you enter the park, turn right and it's on the right hand side, right before Georgia Cyclone.
Q-bots can also be pre-paid at the Admissions and Ticket Windows prior to entering the park. Purchase your Q-bot with your ticket and come to the 'Will-call" area in Stoller Rental to speed up your process!
