SFOGnet Info & History . . .

Six Flags Over Georgia NET (SFOGnet) was officially launched on mind-bender.org on February 7th, 2000, as Six Flags Over Georgia: An Unofficial Shrine. Before that, the site spent time hosted at Tripod as Twisted Tracks: A Fan's Obsession With Six Flags Over Georgia. Since then, a lot has changed; the site has definitely grown, with the additions of a discussion forum, electronic postcards, tons of photos, a section dedicated to the park's history, and lots more. On October 1st, 2004, the site moved to its current location at sfog.net, and underwent a big redesign -- including many updated and new features, including the unofficial park calender and the new photo gallery.

In March 2005, SFOGnet celebrated five years of serving the online SFOG community by unveiling a completely "new" SFOGnet -- new design, new features, and loads of information. It is the site's biggest redesign to date.

This site is not official. It is 100% unofficial; I'm just a fan of the park. For the official Six Flags Over Georgia site, see sixflags.com. You can also view SFOGnet's Copyright Information.

SFOGnet is best viewed with 1024 x 768 screen resolution, on the newest version of Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, with the Tahoma font installed, and images turned on.

The site is owned, designed, and run by Jackie Kirkland. Visit the staff page for full information on everyone who makes SFOGnet possible.

SFOGnet FAQ . . .

Q. Is this the official SFOG site?
A. No. This site is completely unofficial.

Q. Can I get [directions to/a job at/brochures from] your park?
A. SFOG is not my park. I don't even work there. This website is completely, 100% unofficial. This is a fan page dedicated to the park. The official park website is at www.sixflags.com/georgia. So, no, I cannot offer such things.

Q. Can I suggest something for your page?
A. Absolutely! In fact, visitors are very encouraged to send feedback and give their ideas for new content. You can do this via e-mail, the guestbook, or the message board.

Q. I have [an SFOG/a roller coaster] website. Will you link me?
A. Sure. Just e-mail your site's URL. I would appreciate a link back, though.

Q. Will you e-mail me [pictures/info/news/rumors]?
A. All the information, pictures, rumors, etc. that I have can be found on the website.

Q. Can I put your photos on my site by directly linking them on your server?
A. No. This is a big problem all over the Internet. The problem is this: putting images on your website that are just linked to the photo on someone else's server is, basically, stealing. Why? Every website has its own allotted amount of bandwidth, which is something you have to pay for, unless you're on a free host. Bandwidth is the amount of bytes that can be transferred from the website to your computer; this includes photos. Linking photos off someone else's server eats bandwidth, and could possibly shut the site down. So, please, always save images to your website server, and take a look at the Copyright Information page for more details on using photos.

Q. What do you use to make this page?
A. I use Paint Shop Pro 7, Paint Shop Pro 9, and Adobe Photo Shop CS for the graphics and I type the raw HTML and PHP myself in Windows Notepad. I FTP through CoreFTP to upload my files onto the SFOGnet domain.

Q. Didn't this site used to be hosted at mind-bender.org?
A. Yes, it did.

Q. Mind-Bender.org? Is that like the Mind Bender at SFOG?
A. Sure is.

Q. What do you use to take pictures?
A. The pictures featured in the Gallery section were taken with a Kodak DC215 digital camera, unless otherwise noted. All the pictures were cropped and touched up using a variety of imaging programs.

Q. How can one best view this website?
A. All my websites are best viewed using 1024 x 768 resolution with Verdana, Tahoma, and Arial fonts installed, and with images turned on. It helps to have Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, but the site should look okay on the newest version of just about any browser.

Q. I found incorrect information on your site! What do I do?
A. Please e-mail me and I will correct the information.
